It’s natural to feel a little insecure when you like someone who doesn’t seem to share your feelings.

Especially in the confusing society nowadays, where cliques and social hierarchies are so prevalent and influential – it can be scary to like someone who seems out of your league.

But we all have those moments where we like someone who doesn’t see us that way.

Maybe they don’t even know you exist yet, or maybe they’re just not interested in exploring that further; whatever the case may be, it can hurt when the girl you like ignores you.

Keep reading for more information and let’s dive into 10 reasons it hurts when the girl you like ignores you and how to respond.

1) It feels like you’re being rejected

It can feel like she is rejecting you if you’re not getting the attention you want. You may start to wonder, “What did I do wrong? Why didn’t she like me back? What should I do now?”

The truth is, you don’t know what went wrong and it may or may not be anything you could have done differently.

She could be seeing someone else and doesn’t want to break up with that person.

She might not even notice your interest yet, or she may be too shy to say anything.

Whatever the case may be, it can hurt when the girl you like ignores you; but there are a few things you can do about it!

2) You feel worthless and dumb for not being noticed

The first feeling that people feel when their crush ignores them is that they’re unworthy, dumb, and not good enough.

This can be especially true for teens in high school who are trying to find their social place.

This is the time when people are usually starting to branch out and talk to more than a few friends.

It’s important to remember that there could always be a reason why your crush isn’t returning your affection.

Maybe he or she just doesn’t like you back, or maybe he or she is too shy to make the first move.

You won’t know unless you ask them outright!

3) It makes you feel unworthy of love and care

When the girl you like ignores you, it can make you feel unworthy of love and care.

It can be hard to see them with someone else when they’ve never given you a chance, or worse – if they have given you a chance but then ignore your efforts.

It can make it seem like the person is never going to look in your direction and that makes it hard to feel good about yourself.

If you haven’t been feeling confident already, this is not going to help matters.

If you’re dealing with your feeling of unworthiness, have you considered getting to the root of the issue?

You see, most of our shortcomings in love stem from our own complicated inner relationship with ourselves – how can you fix the external without seeing the internal first?

I learned this from the world-renowned shaman Rudá Iandê, in his incredible free video on Love and Intimacy

So, if you want to improve the relationships you have with others, start with yourself.

4) It leaves you questioning your self-worth

The first thing to consider when it comes to the feelings hurt when the girl you like ignores you is that it can leave you questioning your self-worth.

There’s a natural tendency to question yourself and your actions, wondering if there was something wrong with what you did or said.

This can be compounded if the girl in question had any interest in you at all and then neglected to respond or took a while before responding.

It can make you feel as if there must be something wrong with you, which is an unfortunate way for someone else’s lack of interest in seeing where things go to leave their mark on your self-esteem.

5) You start feeling afraid of getting close to anyone again

Your heart starts to ache when you see her in the halls, and it only gets worse when she stares right through you like you don’t exist.

It’s natural that, if you have a crush on someone who doesn’t seem interested in getting close to you, this will make it difficult for you to get close to anyone else.

Here’s how it goes:

You start feeling afraid of getting close to anyone again because they might not be interested in being your friend either.

However, don’t let this discourage you – there are plenty of people out there who are looking for someone just like you!

6) You get confused about whether or not you like them back

When you like someone and they don’t seem to have any intention of returning those feelings, it can be hard to figure out what your feelings are.

You might start questioning whether or not you like them back at all.

And if you do, is it just because they didn’t like your back?

It’s a complicated process where female and male relationships often intersect.

But by acknowledging the confusion, you can take the necessary steps to clarify whether or not you do like them in return.

You can remind yourself that this confusing feeling means that there may be something good happening in your life – even if it doesn’t seem that way now.

If you can be confident that she likes you, you’re much more likely to attract the right type of woman for you.

This goes back to what I mentioned earlier – understanding women isn’t tough, it just takes someone who knows to show you the way.

And that person is relationship expert Kate Spring.

7) She’s the type of girl you want to be with

There are many reasons why someone might ignore the girl they like and it can be hard to understand all of them.

The first reason may be because she doesn’t want to hurt your feelings, so she’s trying to avoid telling you she doesn’t want to pursue anything with you.

For example, if she is interested in another guy who is also interested in her, then she may not want to tell you how she feels because it would just lead to more rejection.

Another reason why a girl might ignore the boy that likes her is that she’s not interested in that type of relationship at this time or simply doesn’t feel the same way about him as he does about her.

And finally, there could be some other reason for why the girl you like is ignoring you; but whatever the case may be, he must understand that girls can also have feelings for boys, and girls may not always mean what we say when we say “no.”

8) It feels like you’re constantly doing all the work

There are many reasons why a girl might like you, but not be showing it.

One reason is that she might not believe in herself as much as you, and feels like she isn’t good enough for you.

This can make her feel insecure about pursuing a relationship with you, so she may just not show her feelings to avoid the risk of rejection.

Another reason could be that she’s unsure about how to act around you.

She may be shy and worried about what could happen if she talks to you first or asks you out on a date.

If the girl likes someone else too, it means there’s another guy she’s interested in and doesn’t want to lead on either of them if they pursue her romantically.

It’s easy for girls to get mixed up because it can often seem like there’s more than one person they’re interested in – which would make it difficult for one person to know what to do next.

9) You feel jealous and resentful of the guys she dates

It’s not only girls who feel insecure when they like someone.

When the girl you like ignores you, it can also make you feel resentful of the guys she does date.

So what’s the answer?

This is a common experience for any guy who likes a girl who isn’t interested.

You might start feeling jealous of her other suitors and be resentful that she has found happiness with them instead of you.

You might also feel resentful of the guys she dates because they can spend time with her and get to know her better than you do.

They get to have conversations with her that most likely don’t include topics about school or home life, but are more flirtatious or about their life goals for the future.

That’s frustrating and makes you feel left out.

This is how it can hurt when the girl you like ignores you, as it can make you feel jealous and resentful of people who don’t care about your feelings while she goes on living her life without a care in the world!

10) You feel so bad that you want to stop trying

It’s natural to feel a little bad when you like someone who doesn’t seem to share your feelings.

But we all have those moments where we like someone who doesn’t see us that way.

Maybe they don’t even know you exist yet, or maybe they’re just not interested in exploring that further; whatever the case may be, it can hurt when the girl you like ignores you.

If this has happened to you before, then you know how bad it feels. And if it hasn’t happened yet, is it something that scares you?

You want to stop trying because it hurts so much.

It can feel awful to put yourself out there again after getting rejected– and most times, the rejection will happen again and again until she starts noticing you for what you are: someone worth meeting up with and befriending.

But as hard as it is, this setback is an opportunity for growth; learn from this experience and start building your confidence back up!

How to respond?

Do something you love.

Take your mind off being rejected by a girl and do something more fun. It could be a hike to the local park, walking in the rain with your dog, or playing video games.

It’s a no-brainer that the options are limitless

Speak to your best friends.

Your friends that you feel comfortable around can lift your mood and help you feel better because having fun with them is always a great time!

You and your best friends might even be able to help each other in handling rejection. You and your friends might even be able to help each other in handling rejection.

It’s time to move on.

It’s difficult to get over rejection, but you’ll get past it sooner or later.

Don’t redirect all of your rejection energy into finding someone new; just enjoy being single and you’ll meet someone who is compatible with you eventually.

There are so many other fish in the sea, so don’t be too upset about this one girl. There will be someone out there who likes you too!

Do your self-care routine:

Doing exercises, yoga or meditation, skincare, sunbathing are excellent ways to get a calming mind, which allows you to think more logically about the situation rather than becoming trapped in an emotional rut.

Conclusion

To sum up, it’s wonderful when you meet someone you are attracted to. But sometimes the attraction doesn’t turn into a relationship.

This can leave you confused, wondering why this particular girl doesn’t seem interested in you.

Although you may feel like it’s your fault, it’s important to remember that there isn’t anything wrong with you.

Sometimes it just doesn’t work out. No one can make someone else fall in love with them. When a crush isn’t reciprocated, it can be hard to know what to do next.

One option is to sit back and wait to see if you will eventually be accepted. Another option is to fully dive in and try to win her over.
