10 warning signs someone is trying to ruin your relationship

When you’ve found someone special, the last thing you want to think about is whether or not they’re trying to sabotage your relationship.

Sadly, it does happen.

The best way to protect against this is by trusting your instincts and watching for warning signs that someone is trying to break you and your partner up.

Read on for 10 red flag examples and tips on how to diffuse the situation if it arises in your own relationship.

1) Your privacy is somehow compromised.

If someone is trying to negatively change the relationship dynamics, they’re probably doing it by exploiting an oversight that you share with your partner.

There are many reasons why a person would want to know about your personal life.

Maybe it’s because he or she is dating someone and wants to get by on insider information.

Or perhaps your partner has had a drinking problem in the past and wants to find out more about your habits so he or she can keep an eye out for signs you may be a candidate for alcoholism.

On a more serious note, if there’s a secret other person you’ve kept from your partner (whether it be a past lover or someone you’ve confided in), and suddenly your relationship is shoved into the spotlight, this is likely because this person is jealous and wants a piece of your time.

2) They always talk about your past relationships.

This is a red flag because it shows that someone’s trying to change the focus of your relationship.

If your partner is constantly bringing up their past partners, they may be trying to make you jealous so they can use that as ammunition in their war with you.

How to recognize it?

The best way to know if this person is purposely trying to ruin a relationship is by watching how they interact with you and your partner when they’re around.

If your partner’s entire conversation revolves around you & your past relationships, this is a good sign they are discontent in the present.

Life is all about the here and now.

If they’re constantly talking about what happened in the past or your ex-partners, it could mean that your partner finds it difficult to connect with you and has trouble accepting how much happier and better you are when compared with those days.

3) They flirt with your partner.

A surefire way to frustrate someone who’s in a relationship is to try and break them up.

Obviously, this is a very immature move, but it happens all the time.

If you catch your partner flirting with someone else, they may be trying to send you a message that they’re unhappy in the relationship.

If your partner’s behavior changes and he or she seems much more receptive to flirting from the opposite sex, there could be a problem.

Flirting is an indication that something’s not right in your relationship.

Be wary of your partner’s intentions if he or she is acting more receptive to flirting than usual.

This is a surefire way to create disharmony.

4) Friends who want you to cheat.

If your partner wants you to cheat, it’s a good idea to consider the source of their outburst.

Do they want you to cheat because they themselves are unhappy and want a way out? Or is it because they want you to cheat so it will give them space and make them feel more secure in the relationship?

As much as it sucks to deal with, if your partner is going to try and break up your relationship, they’re probably going to try and make you cheat on them.

This shows a total lack of trust for the relationship in which you are both invested in.

Yes, it’s true!

If you’re dating someone who’s determined to cheat on you, it’s likely that your partner will befriend people who are also in relationships and want to be encouraged by their actions.

If your partner’s friends are encouraging you to cheat, they may not have his or her best interest at heart.

It’s incredibly rare for a person’s close friends and family members to support a cheating habit.

5) They disrespect your partner.

If you catch your friends disrespecting your partner, it could be a huge sign that he or she is trying to destroy the relationship

This shows that they don’t respect the person you are in love with and have no interest in treating them as an equal person.

This is a serious offense, so watch out!

If you realize that your partner has a jealous streak and will frequently dislike the attention you get, this is a sign that they have issues with their partner.

He or she will constantly make comments about how they’re unappreciated or that they have their low-down on their person.

If your partner is being disrespectful towards your significant other, it’s likely that they are trying to make you feel insecure and distrustful of your partner.

Be sure to watch out for subtle signs of disrespect and disrespect directed towards you.

6) They often blame you for any problems.

If your partner’s constantly blaming you for any perceived screw-ups in the relationship, this is a sign that there’s something wrong.

This is a clear indication that your partner is not happy with you and has no interest in working on their issues with you.

This is a red flag for all kinds of relationship problems

Often, this is done subconsciously to make you feel less respected.

When an individual blames you when a problem occurs, they are essentially doing the same thing that they do to your partner—making themselves look better than your partner by pointing out how amazing they are and saying how bad it would be if it weren’t for them.

They may blame you for other people’s missteps and take it out on you to feel better about themselves.

If your partner’s constant need to blame someone else can be annoying, they probably want something from you and are very childish in the way they’re going about it.

7) Friends think your date isn’t good enough.

If your partner’s friends are constantly making fun of your dates, this is a good sign that they’re jealous.

If your partner’s friends don’t approve of the person they’re dating, they will most likely voice their concerns to you in an effort to break up the relationship.

This is a clear indication that they’re unhappy with how close you two are and want to make it harder for you two to connect.

This is a surefire way to get under your skin and cause conflict in the relationship.

That’s right!

If your friends are trying to destroy the relationship by making fun of you on a regular basis, it’s probably because they want to be the center of attention in their own lives, not yours.

Your friends are constantly telling you that your partner isn’t good enough for you because they’re trying to get rid of him or her.

This can be viewed as intense jealousy or dislike towards your partner and is definitely something to pay attention to.

Your friends may have legitimate concerns with the person you’re dating and only want the best for you, but the outcome is still incredibly unsettling.

8) Friends speak ill of you.

If your friends are constantly talking badly about you, this could be an indication of guilt.

This is an automatic red flag that there’s something wrong in the relationship.

Your friends may have had reasons to feel guilty around each other, which has led them to make exceptions and disrespect you in the process.

If your friends are constantly speaking ill of you to your partner, this is because they’re jealous of their relationship with you.

They may be trying to alienate you from the relationship because they’re not happy with your bond.

If your friends aren’t willing to embrace the relationship for what it is and are trying to break you apart, it’s time for some serious reevaluation of the situation.

9) Friends who talk behind your back.

This is a big red flag that the relationship is in shambles.

Firstly, if your friends don’t like you, it’s because you’re not good enough for their friends.

This separates you from your partner and shows that your partner is not important to them.

Secondly, if your friends are constantly badmouthing you to the person you are dating, this will inevitably result in them being treated poorly.

It is okay to have your friends talk behind the back of your partner.

If they take it too far and constantly discuss your relationship with them, this is extremely serious!

When a friend is trying to make a point of talking negatively about you, it’s likely for one or more of the following reasons:

They’re jealous. They want to make you feel uncomfortable so that you will distance yourself from their friend.

10) Friends who try to destroy your confidence.

If you notice that your friends are constantly trying to downplay the value of your relationship, this is unacceptable.

This means that they lack confidence in their own relationship and are looking for reasons to create conflict.

In most cases, when a friend isn’t happy with you and wants to make things difficult for you, it’s because they don’t like you or want something from you.

This is a clear indication that your friends are trying to bring you down

They may be trying to sabotage the relationship in order to feel better about themselves.

They may constantly criticize you, making you feel uncomfortable around them and try to take over anything you do.

You can’t get fired up about something if you don’t believe it’s worthwhile.

There is no job too small, nothing is too insignificant and no one is unimportant.

This means that it’s very important to focus on the most important things at hand so that our relationships can run smoothly.

Your friends may have valid reasons for not liking you, but this doesn’t ruin your relationship if you remain constant.

In conclusion

It is important for you to learn to see things for what they are.

It doesn’t matter if you have a lot of friends or not, the most important thing is what your friends think of your relationship and how they act towards it.

You should never underestimate the value of a good friend and realize that they are one of the best blessings in our lives.
