‍We all have insecurities about the way we look. It’s completely normal, and there is no person on earth who doesn’t have negative thoughts about their appearance from time to time.

But it’s even worse when we get a feeling that a guy we like might be thinking of us as ugly, too.

That’s how I felt just a few months ago – I got the feeling that I was unattractive to the guy I was seeing.

That’s when I started doing some research to find out the signs he thinks you’re ugly.

What I found was quite mind-blowing, but luckily I also figured out what I can do about this situation! Are you curious? I’ll tell you everything I know…

1) He doesn’t look at you when you talk

This is one of the most obvious signs he thinks you’re ugly – he simply doesn’t look at you when you’re talking.

Men usually look at women when they talk to them because it’s a subconscious way of showing interest and attraction.

More importantly, when a man thinks that you’re attractive, he won’t be able to rip his gaze from you!

If a guy doesn’t look at you when you talk but does that with every other girl he talks to, it’s almost certain that he sees you as unattractive.

You see, there are a few possible explanations for this – he might be shy, or he might not be interested in you sexually.

Maybe he’s just an awkward guy who doesn’t look at anybody while they’re talking, or you might have gotten some bad news and he doesn’t want to look at you because he feels too awkward.

The thing is, this one is a little bit tricky.

On its own, I wouldn’t take this as a sign of him thinking you’re ugly.

You see, some guys, when they really like someone, they get nervous. Really nervous, to the point of not being able to look at them while they talk.

In that case, you would notice him being more shy and nervous in general, however, he would definitely look at you from time to time, and there would be other obvious signs of attraction.

So don’t worry, if this happens once in a while and he looks at you from time to time, it’s probably just him being shy.

2) He never tries to kiss you or touch you

If a guy is interested in you, he will want to get physically close to you at some point – he will want to touch you, hold your hand, or maybe even try to kiss you.

If he’s never done anything like that, it’s a sign that he might think you’re not attractive.

He might not know how to tell you this, or maybe he’s just too shy to do these things.

If a guy never initiates any physical contact with you, it’s almost certainly because he thinks you’re not attractive.

This is especially true if he’s very touchy with other girls – if he was constantly holding hands, hugging, and kissing other girls in the past, but never does anything like that with you, that’s another sign that he sees you as unattractive.

You see, most guys are pretty physical – if they like you and find you attractive, they want to be as close to you as possible.

If a guy never tries to get physically close to you or touch you, that’s a big sign that he thinks you’re unattractive.

Again, he might just be shy, or something else could be holding him back, but the chance is pretty big that it’s about you!

3) He’s constantly making excuses to not hang out

If you’ve been on a couple of dates with a guy and he suddenly can’t seem to find time to hang out with you, that could be a sign that he thinks you’re unattractive.

Again, he might not know how to tell you that he doesn’t find you attractive, or maybe he just doesn’t want to hurt your feelings.

One thing to keep in mind – if you’ve only been on one or two dates with a guy, it’s likely that he’s just not interested in you yet – it’s only after you’ve gone on a couple of dates a few times that it’s possible to know if he’s interested in you or not.

Plus, there are literally countless reasons why someone might not be interested in hanging out – they can range from them dealing with something personal, not being ready to date, or simply not feeling a connection with you, regardless of your looks!

So if that happens to you, try not to take it personally!

4) He stopped complimenting you

If a guy has always complimented you in the past but suddenly stops doing that, it’s a sign that he might see you as unattractive.

Maybe he just doesn’t know what to say, or perhaps he’s trying to be respectful and not hurt your feelings by blurting out that you’re ugly.

Whatever the reason, if a guy stops complimenting you, it’s a clear sign that he thinks you’re unattractive.

Again – if he complimented you a lot in the past but suddenly stops, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he thinks you’re ugly – maybe he just lost interest in you.

Whatever the case, he is not interested in you, so it’s probably time to move on!

5. He looks at other women when he’s with you

If you notice that a guy is constantly looking at other women while he’s with you, it’s a pretty clear sign that he thinks you’re unattractive.

If he’s only looking at other girls, and not at you, it’s clear that he thinks you’re ugly.

If you ever catch him doing this, you could call him out on it.

He might not be aware that he’s doing it, so you can open up a conversation by asking him why he keeps looking at other girls.

If he still keeps looking at other girls when you talk to him, it’s a sign that he thinks you’re ugly.

You see, if you are officially dating this guy, then this behavior is just plain unattractive, and frankly, he might be showing you that he is not the one for you.

But if you aren’t dating him yet, then his looking at other girls definitely shows that he doesn’t see you as super attractive.

6) He doesn’t look you in the eyes

One of the first things we do when we meet someone we like is make eye contact with them.

We make eye contact so that the person knows we’re interested in them and likes what they see.

We avoid making eye contact with people we don’t like or aren’t interested in because it can be uncomfortable and awkward.

If a guy never makes eye contact with you, it’s a clear sign that he thinks you’re ugly – he just doesn’t like what he sees when he looks into your eyes.

It’s possible that he’s just shy, but if he makes eye contact with other people, it’s more likely that he thinks you’re ugly.

You see, eye contact is something that can be very intimate and personal.

So when someone avoids making eye contact with you, it’s usually a sign that he isn’t interested in you on that level.

And if he thinks you’re ugly, then he’s probably not interested in getting to know you better on a romantic or sexual level.

7) He doesn’t smile when he sees you

If a guy never smiles at you, it’s a sign that he might not like what he sees when he looks at you.

Again, he might just be shy or trying to be respectful, so it’s important to take his other actions into account – if he’s constantly smiling at other girls but never smiles at you, it’s a clear sign that he thinks you’re ugly.

The thing is, most guys will smile at the girl they like.

So if he doesn’t smile at you, it’s a sign that he doesn’t like what he sees when he looks at you.

Now: of course, this all depends on context – what is he going through at the moment?

8) He seems uncomfortable when you’re around him

If a guy is really interested in you, he will be relaxed and happy when you’re around him.

He will make you feel comfortable, too, which is a big sign of attraction.

If a guy doesn’t seem comfortable when you’re around him, but does that with every other person he meets, it’s a clear sign that he thinks you’re ugly.

Now: being uncomfortable can have different sources – he might just be a bit awkward and unsure of how to approach you.

But if he’s fine around other people, but is uncomfortable when he’s around you, then it might be a sign that he thinks you’re ugly.

9) He flirts with other women in front of you

If you’ve been on a few dates with a guy and have been hoping that he’s going to ask you out and become your boyfriend, but he doesn’t seem to be interested in you, it might be because he thinks you’re ugly.

If you notice that a guy is flirting with other women in front of you, but not with you, it’s a sign that he thinks you’re not attractive enough to flirt with.

Now: if a man you are dating flirts with other women in front of you, that’s your cue to run the other way, anyways.

However, if this guy is simply a friend and you notice he openly flirts, that can show that he doesn’t see you as a viable romantic/sexual partner.

If he did, he wouldn’t flirt with other women in front of your eyes.

10) He makes it clear he thinks that you’re ugly

If you’ve been on a few dates with a guy and notice that he’s been acting strangely around you, but you’re not sure why, it’s possible that he thinks you’re ugly.

If he makes negative comments about your appearance, like telling you that your hair or clothes look bad or criticizing your makeup, it’s almost certain that he thinks you’re ugly.

If the signs above don’t apply to you, but you notice that he’s been making negative comments about your appearance or otherwise making it obvious, it’s a clear sign that he thinks you’re ugly.

Now that you know what to look for, you can take steps to improve your appearance and make him attracted to you!

What to do about it:

Let’s see what you can actually do about this unfortunate situation:

Notice the red flags

The first thing I need you to do is notice the red flags. I know, you really like this guy, but a lot of the signs I mentioned above are actually really red flags for when you’re dating a guy.

Things like looking at other girls, flirting with other women, and making negative comments about your appearance are all signs that he’s not interested in being with you and that he’s kind of a jerk.

The thing is, why would you even want to be with someone who already disrespects you?

It’s not like he’s going to change, either.

If you continue to date him, he will continue to disrespect you and make you realize that he thinks you’re ugly.

Don’t be with someone who doesn’t think you’re attractive.

This will only hurt your feelings and self-esteem down the line.

Fall in love with your own beauty

Okay, I know it’s going to be difficult, especially if you’ve spent your entire life thinking that you’re not attractive, but I need you to fall in love with your own beauty.

You are beautiful, no matter what anyone says.

I know that, deep down inside, you know it too.

If you can’t believe it yet, there are many things you can do to try and change that.

One of them is doing mirror work.

I’m not going to go into detail about mirror work here, but I want you to sit down in front of a mirror and look into your own eyes.

What are the things that you don’t like about yourself?

But more importantly, what are the things about your appearance you really love?

That could be anything, from the way your nose is shaped to the way your collarbone looks.

Start to focus on the good.

I know it’s hard, but you can do it.

You deserve to be treated with respect and to be loved for who you are, not how you look.

Another thing I’ve personally tried is to go ahead and change up your style a bit.

Find a style that feels like yourself and you will instantly feel better.

Once you feel confident, you will realize that this guy was simply a douche and not someone you want in your life, anyway!

Take care of yourself

Last but not least, you need to learn to take good care of yourself.

That means eating healthy, getting plenty of sleep, and maybe even working out a little bit.

When you feel good about yourself, it’s easier to be confident and not let the opinions of others get to you.

If you feel good about yourself and you’re proud of the person that you are, then no one can say anything bad about you that will really stick.

I know it’s hard, especially when people are constantly criticizing your body or your appearance or even your personality.

But just remember that they are not worth your time if they can’t see how amazing and beautiful you really are!

Taking care of yourself is showing your body that you are worthy of good things.

It’s showing your body that you love it and that you respect it.

When you feel good about yourself, it becomes easier to be confident.

And the best part?

When you start to see your own worth, it will be so much easier to dismiss the guys who don’t see it.

It’s nothing personal

The thing is, not everybody in life will be attracted to you, and you have to realize that that’s okay.

You see, every person has a different taste, and what one person might find incredibly attractive, another person might find repulsive!

The good news in that is that one guy’s opinion has nothing to do with you.

It’s not about you, it’s about him.

And in reality, a guy who isn’t attracted to you and shows you right away is only doing you a favor – he is saving you some time that you can now spend looking for the guy you are perfect for.

And trust me, that man exists, and he can’t wait to finally meet you.

So, instead of sulking about one guy not finding you attractive, focus on finding that beauty within yourself and your confidence will attract the right person into your life, I promise.
